i also like how the only 2 weaver bosses are opposite, widow being devoted to gms and first sinner hating her, but they were both punished by their sisters

The saddest part is that Grand Mother Silk couldn't have cared less about what Widow was doing the whole time. From Silk's perspective any of this is 'too little, too late' and she's done with the Weavers. All that devotion, all that suffering, it was for nothing because her mother had also pretty much abandoned her

i like how even widow, who at first sight i thought was pure evil, is a really broken character, i can say the same for a lot of other "villains" in silksong. Not the savage beastfly tho, that thing is evil to the core

This is cut content, but a cutscene depicts Widow getting her mask removed by several weavers using a machine so it's fair that the weavers indeed did it.

Black Widows being named as such because they kill and eat their husbands after mating is interesting. Because that implies a large difference between “widows” who are usually losing their spouse and “black widows” who actively drive away or remove their spouse. Silksong’s Widow might actually be better described as a Black Widow given that description

This is a fantastic analysis of Widow, I've never really considered the potential meaning behind the other Weavers scattering in Widow's Memory. I just figured it was showing that the Weavers were once numerous and somewhat reclusive or secretive. I enjoyed your examination of the meaning behind the name, I only ever looked at the etymology of "Widow" and alternative definitions for the word, I never considered looking at synonyms, especially archaic ones like "Relict". Amazing video, these lore videos have all been great but I think this is the best one yet!

Wow. I hadn’t put together that in Widow’s Dream, that you’re seeing this from her perspective. That everywhere you look your siblings are running from you. Thats so sad actually 😭 <br>This video was so good Livy! Thank you.

Also another reason why Widow did it to Bellhart specifically is becouse by citadel rules their residents were sinners for abandoning pilgrimage and settling in one place. Also the fact that corpse of cut npc, pin pilgrim is seen in her room, as pilgrims werent allowed to carry pins as weapons.

Wonderful analysis, Widow is truly a tragic character and I’m glad people are willing to explore the depth of this seemingly simple game.
