The Pinstress of the Ducts was probably killed by Vog.
Vog sports a cross-shaped scar that resembles the iconic attack of the Pinstresses. It’s clear they fought.

I found myself saying, "oh no" about Groal possibly attracting the haunting by messing with soul. Bilewater seems a critical lesson about how to oppose that which should be opposed.

I like how bilewater isn’t black and white, metaphorically. Yes, they didn’t deserve the pollution that the citadel dumped on them, but they’re also power hungry and greedy. They killed the one snail shaman who came to them in hopes of forming an alliance and stole their soul magic.

The whole thing is one big shade of grey.

16:44 I didn't think of Groal's Soul magics possibly attracting over the Twisted Bud, but it is possible that the Greyroot extended the bud to this area simply to keep it safe

if we go off of the forest once extending into Bilewater, perhaps it deemed this root the safest place to leave it, or simply was the only root not eradicated if someone did go and try to cleanse away greyroot

what are the chances something would venture into bilewater, find the bud, and then make it out? for all we know, many have tried and failed, and somehow it manuevers its way back... or maybe this was the fate of the previous victim, crawling into that corner and simply resting... only forever

Also did you noticed how both Groal and Soul Master (from soul sanctum) look familiar? I mean they are both arrogant, big and round, leaders of different groups and places, killed thousands of innocent bugs, hate monarchs of their kingdoms, stole snail shamans' souls and became more powerful after that?

i feel like the only person who doesn't hate bilewater. it has some of the most satisfying parkour segments in the entire game, the traps are satisfying to catch and dodge and the music is angelic. as long as you go in with wreath of purity its a fun area
also groal is a fun boss its just the runback thats annoying
