The people who get the angriest about your boundaries were often benefiting from you not having any.

You should've let the burp out. Be more assertive.

I've been suffering from self-abandonment all my life. "Fixing" others, people pleasing and all that jazz. This video is cathartic and honestly every point speaks to me...

I love you always stumble over words at least once in your videos and you don’t edit it out. It makes you genuine. Real. Vulnerable. And you always ride through it with humor. This is a humbling reminder that we all mess up and that’s the point: keep trying. Keep growing. And if you started editing out the mistakes, the random cuts in the video would only take away from the wholesomeness of your presentations.

Thank you!

As a plumber, I totally understand what you went through as an apprentice. I've had plenty of that throughout the first two years of plumbing. As the owner of a plumber company, I didn't want to treat my guys like that.

Part of this is being able to deal with the discomfort of how prickly people can get when you say no or I don't know, and the attempt to push through the boundary. You can say no or I don't know if I can attend, etc, and you can be sure people will pretend the previous answer was never given and continue to ask the same question. That will chip away at a lot of people and cause them to give in.
