  Just found your video today and watched a couple. What&apos;s refreshing is the Australian perspective. It&apos;s not American targetted and pricing is broken up with Aussie and American costs.   Illegal backfeeding of DC into the computer is very bad, there are numerous cases where it would damage some person&apos;s hardware. Adjacent issue, from experience, every USB hub with this fault also has obvious insulation faults in the supplied wall wart, once you crack it open it&apos;s plain as day they should have never been sold, and this is not merely a matter of losing your money or your data, this is dangerous to life.<br><br>Capacitors on the hub near power input are not actually a safety feature at all, you expect to find them so when you connect some vaguely angry USB device downstream, the hub doesn&apos;t just fall of the bus for a second. Backfeed had to be protected with a Schottky diode, or the power plane just completely disconnected from the USB input. The fundamental design is improper since it doesn&apos;t even foresee these possibilities.<br><br>Typical USB 2.0 hubs have STT, which means all USB transfers wait their turn, it&apos;s very difficult and expensive to buy a USB 2.0 hub with MTT. True USB 3 hubs usually even fairly cheap ones typically operate the USB 2.0 lines in MTT mode, this means they can take several USB 2.0 HighSpeed (480M/s) host transfers in quick succession and turn them into 1MBit/s or 12MBit/s for slower devices that are transmitted at the same time, utilising the existing USB 2.0 upstream bandwidth better. You want this feature when doing audio, say USB audio interfaces are typically just 12MBit/s and MIDI interfaces can be 1MBit/s modes, and using an MTT hub will make it less likely that one of them will fail to register or falls off the bus when sample rate, bit depth, or number of channels in use changes.<br><br>BTW USB 1.1 tops out at 12MBit/s so that&apos;s less than 1.5MB/s, not 8. Your Orico seems defective, it may have suffered some damage that results in degraded signal integrity.
