  They really need to have the capabilities of the USB-C cable printed on, like Ethernet cables have.

  Please note, e-markers are programmed by the manufacturer to show you what they want you to see.<br>As such they can and will lie to you, and should be compared against the pins to be sure.

  USB(version)4 Version 2.0 is a incredible mental gymnastics. They could have just bumped the version each time they changed something.

I got caught buying at least a dozen of these exact Anker cables because of the power delivery rating—totally not thinking about (and, of course, Anker not fully explaining) that these same cables were virtually useless for data transfer. I didn’t discover this until recently, when I tried to use one with a 4K-capable video camera and I couldn’t get more than 720p resolution.

  Excellent video here. &nbsp;The good news is this tester is available, the bad news is that it&apos;s necessary. &nbsp;With all of the parameters for the cables it&apos;s not bad that a cable can&apos;t do it all it&apos;s that it&apos;s so complex. &nbsp;Kudos to he cable makers doing the best they can, let&apos;s work on how to communicate capabilities to users. &nbsp;Thanks for this video!

  Been looking at the Treedix for ages, just pulled the trigger after watching this. <br>Also worth mentioning that not all TB cables are to spec either, I bought a cheap no name TB5 cable just to test the waters, played up not being recognised.<br>I only buy Ugreen, Anker, Belkin et al now. No problems.<br>Amazon Basics aren&apos;t too bad either, got a cheap 25W Qi 2.2 wireless charger puck a while back, performs to spec.
