  Not being able to use the highest refresh rate via HDMI is a proprietary rights problem. HDMI forum did not permit AMD to use their highest specs in AMDs open source drivers. <br>But this is resolved now and with the coming Linux kernel (7.2) in 2 month or so, you can use the highest refresh rates and resolutions possible with the latest HDMI version.

  I&apos;m not sure why, but this video honestly gave me such a calm and informative insight into the Linux world. For me it&apos;s the perfect balance between informative and entertaining without a lot of jargon or dumbing things down too much. As a dev, this might&apos;ve been the final nudge for me to try out Linux.<br><br>Great video!

  Last year I upgraded my 79yo mother&apos;s laptop from Windows 10 to Linux Mint. She&apos;s thanked me because it made her computer faster, she can still do everything she used Windows for but nothing&apos;s bugging her constantly and giving her anxiety anymore. She has no clue what an online/local account is, what OneDrive or Copilot is, she hated all the ads and the warnings that her computer could not be upgraded and that she wouldn&apos;t get updates anymore. All happy sailing now... big W for Linux.

  I also just switched to Linux as a gamer. My gaming PC was the last rig still running Windows, and after my SSD died last week I made the decision to switch. Let&apos;s hope I stay.

  I switched to Linux 6 months ago and it has been my best experience with an OS ever. Now its up to the major software developers to have Linux versions of their software, time to put the pressure on them. I tried Linux in the early 2000s and it was not enjoyable, now its easier than using windows.

  If your goal was gaming and Running Davinci Resolve, then you must try Nobara Linux which comes with preconfigured Davinci Resolve dependencies and Install Launcher as well + all the gaming related fixes and Performance tweaks out of the box. And it&apos;s devoper is the &quot;Glorious Eggroll&quot; the man who developed the GE Version of the proton which is by far the most advance windows gaming layer for Linux and you can run Majority of the windows games on it like GTA-V , Counter Strike Source 2, Tomb Raiders etc etc.

  For adding a network share in dolphin file manager you can right click the title on the left side &quot;Remote&quot; &nbsp;and select &quot;add entry&quot;.<br>Now you can point it to the location you want to use! (yes it took me over 2 hours to find that one out XD)

  @HardwareHaven <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHi0jYZPiyM&amp;t=1605">26:45</a> you can allow Resolve to see `/mnt` (or any path(s) you want) in Resolve&apos;s &quot;Preferences&quot; -&gt; &quot;Media Storage&quot; -&gt; &quot;add&quot; button.<br><br>Currently using resolve studio on cachyos with hyprland (nvidia gpu tho) and its been great. There is a resolve plugin for AAC audio exports but its not perfect- misses some metadata on exported files. Working on a manual fix eventually. Resolve itself has had no issues after some hyprland configuration to make it work a little better for my workflow. Glad you are sticking with it!!
