  My father was a mortician, even taught at a mortuary college. He had a talent for restoration. When classmates learned this in grade school they asked how could I let him touch me. My father told me that all doctors practice on corpses so I asked them if they knew their doctors had touched bodies. <br>Everything changed in high school when a classmate killed in a car accident was horribly disfigured and my father was able to restore her beautifully.

  I was flying out a patient (helicopter) and it was a 16 year old female involved in an MVC. &nbsp;She wasn&apos;t going to make it, but we were doing everything we could during the flight. &nbsp;The young woman&apos;s phone had fallen off the backboard and was on the floor of the aircraft facing up. I remember it going off over and over because it was lighting up each time (night flight) and it said &quot;mommy&quot; on it. &nbsp;20 years of air medical work and this was the one thing I cannot ever unsee. &nbsp;The trauma, blood, gore, smells etc you get used to. &nbsp;It&apos;s when suddenly the human factor kicks you in the stomach and forever embeds itself in your brain that gets to you even 10 years later. &nbsp;So Lauren, the phone ringing, yep. &nbsp;I feel your pain.

  My uncle was a hermit and decomposed in his apartment over one to two months before someone reported the smell. &nbsp;When we cleaned out his apartment, everything had to be taken to the dump. &nbsp;Nothing was salvageable. &nbsp;That was 43 years ago and I will never forget the smell of decomposition. &nbsp;Pray you never have to experience it.

  My wife and I never discussed final arrangements. She passed away from covid and I had to have her cremated due to cost. It bothered me for months having to have this precious person burned. As time went on I began to realize that because of her fear of ants and the gross process of decomposition, &nbsp;I have no doubt &nbsp;that she would be fine with clean cremation. That&apos;s what I&apos;ll have as well.

  Anyone else sick with the plague.. errr… I mean the flu? It found its way to our house this last week. It’s been honestly tragic and miserable and wouldn’t wish it on ANYONE. 😭 but we are on the mend now! Thank heavens!!

  So I was an IV &nbsp;heroin addict for .. ohh about 20 years. Worked mostly thru that. Except the last few years. During that time I had issues finding a Vein and I would have to filter my stuff because blood would start coagulating in the syringe. Long story short, there were many desperate times I saved old shots and used them. Including days old blood. <br>There were a few times I was VERY sick. It was probably the old blood. <br><br>Thought of this when you were discussing possible transfusions. My skin and body actually reacted thinking about what I used to do. <br><br>I&apos;ve been better for 5 years and sober for 2. Yay me. Greetings from 🇨🇦

  As for the cell phone ringing story, this is what I experienced. &nbsp;The love of my life suddenly died. &nbsp;He was a corporate pilot and while walking to the hangar he just died. &nbsp;I was calling him several times a day but no answer. &nbsp;It took 3 weeks before I finely was notified that he had passed. &nbsp;So, Lauren I was the one doing the calling his cell phone. &nbsp;This man sent flowers to me from all over the world. &nbsp;I miss him.
