  I'm an old lady now, but as a child I used play at my Uncle's funeral home. He used to let me lay in the display caskets and pretend I was dead. My mother was a nurse, a pioneer of sorts, in Ontario, Canada and opened the first Palliative/Hospice Unit in our part of the province. She would often come home from work, have supper with us and go back to the hospital to sit with someone who was dying as she never allowed any patient who didn't have family to die alone. She had an uncanny way of knowing when one of her patients would die. She said it was a "feeling". Death and dying was always a common topic in our home and was very normal to me. I learned something very young, every dying person, and every dead person, who was cared for by my family was treated with the utmost dignity and care. I'm very proud of that. ❤

  I love when people can make light of things like this. My dad passed 11 years ago from cancer. He wasn’t that old. It was so hard to watch him deteriorate. I spent a lot of time in tears, mourning him before he was even gone. I think we all did. I remember the day he died, when the mortuary came to get him, they covered him with the bed sheet from my parents bed before placing him in the bag. We watched as the carried that bag down the stairs, and placed it in the hearse. My mom, standing at the top of the stairs, as they drove off with him, says “they took my sheet!” &nbsp;<br>I just remember my siblings and I turning and looking at her, then we all busted up laughing for the first time in who knows how long. Maybe that doesn’t seem funny to anyone else, but we still laugh about it. I know she was trying to hold it together for all of us, so her concern became that sheet.

  Thank you for being with them instead of us!! Take it from someone who can’t make special memories anymore because her child is no longer on earth, you won’t regret a moment of it. I, for one, am so proud of you for doing that! &nbsp;❤❤<br><br>EDIT: &nbsp;I’ve just reached the end of the video and I can’t decide whether to laugh at the red thong (oh, that grandma is ‘me’!), or cry because you love us so much you thanked us again for letting you spend time with your children/family. 👏👏👏

  You 100% did the right thing unplugging and being with family. One of the things that come through in your videos is your love for what you do, your love for other people, and now we see that you love family above all which means you have your priorities straight.   My oldest passed in a car accident when he was 19 yrs old. No parent should ever have to go through the loss of a child. I know that my family has never been the same since my sons accident. I love you and miss you Charlie.
