Exercise alone is the reason I got through college with Undiagnosed ADHD. I ran a 10k everyday.

I feel like isolation and internet addiction causes a direct amplification of the ADHD symptoms, with isolation you lack the dopamine of being around people while the internet addiction makes it extremely painful to initiate any task that's not internet related (including working out unfortunately)

If I don´t do my exercises for some days I get really depressed and stressed. I figured out I can´t skip it. EVER.

Before I knew I had ADHD, I was a kid who used to need to run around A LOT. When I got into high school, I stopped exercising as much and my symptoms and depression became much worse. It took me years to realise that my body needs INTENSE exercise almost everyday. If I don’t exert myself like this, I find my focus, clarity, anxiety, depression etc. are all much worse, and they becoming increasingly worse the longer I neglect it. Something about exercise is that it’s not just about burning calories or aesthetics, it’s about using your will, or your spirit, or whatever you want to call it, to overcome the limitations of your physical body. There is an invisible liberation that happens only in your private experience, but this shift changes your perspective and it changes your world. Anyone else relate to this?

I’m here to say at 73 ADHD gets worse as our brain 🧠 ages, thank God I was a long distance runner for 30 years of my adult life , I think the exercise has helped delay rapid brain shrinkage, yet I can definitely feel the difference in my agility. I deliberately swing my arms while I walk . I know I drive my family crazy with my distractions, but actually they don’t know I aggravate myself, sometimes not able to control my impulse talk all the time. It takes conscious effort to control myself.

I am a Pilates instructor. I believe Pilates really helps people with Adhd - balance, control, coordination skills. Even the breathing helps with focus and calming down the nervous system. Thank you so much for your videos. I am learning so much from you🙏🏻🙏🏻

I have my rebounder in my bedroom. I set out my shoes, workout clothes, iphone the night before. I wake up and do 10 minutes to music I love! This is non-negotiable. I’m almost 70 and don’t have time to neglect myself.

This is absolutely why in my office job days I would bike/run to the gym in the morning and not need to wait till 2pm to get productive. Just felt like I had slain a dragon and could stroll into what I needed to do that day.
