What an awesome collaboration. <br><br>One thing, Derek: I get why you said it—I used to say it too until I made a concerted effort to reconsider—but I no longer refer to Evangelicals simply as 'Christians.' Too often, they act as though they alone are the 'real' Christians. <br><br>'Christian' is a noun that can be modified—LDS Christians, Jehovah’s Witness Christians, Roman Catholic Christians, Independent Catholics, Autocephalous Orthodox Christians, Eastern Orthodox Christians, Non-Chalcedonian Christians, and so on. There’s a vast and diverse Christian landscape that deserves recognition."<br><br>Awesome podcast, seriously love you both. Keep speaking truth to power, brothers

On the stance of Nihilism. I am a universal nihilist. I don’t matter to the universe. However; the connections we make and how we interact with others creates a meaning for ourselves and others have a meaning for us. In that way it really does matter and that’s why I have empathy

This was a delightful listen, and I’m personally glad that you guys allowed the tangential, side quest conversations to happen. I love how we can see evolution clearly play out not just in species but also in religion. The denominations of Christianity show just that. Splintering off to fulfill a different niche or area that some groups of people still want to fill

Great conversation! He actually visited the Antiochian Orthodox Church I became a catechumen at not long before my own deconstruction. It is a wonderful church and he experienced that for himself in his audit. I definitely agree with him on the vibe of Orthodox priests. They seem to be genuinely loving people.
