  I find evangelicals have a very difficult time understanding that atheists aren't typically trying to evangelize atheism... The only ones I've met who truly do are still in the process of deconstructing from evangelical Christianity. Most of us are just curious about the world around us but settled in our lack of faith in a God. You do you, I'll do me, always down to talk but I'm not going to try to take Jesus away from you. I just don't want you to force me to die of an eptopic pregnancy because you're out there putting your "faith" in the laws that affect me too.

  They struggle to believe that Jared isn’t fully invested in changing people's minds because they are so entrenched in a mindset of "if I don’t covert them, they suffer forever." When you don’t have the toxin of hell or eternity or an afterlife dependent on belief as a doctrine, you are so much more free to just accept people as they are. They can’t fathom that.

  I think there is a very real vacancy of meaning, community, and coherency of world view in modern american mainstream society, and a corresponding longing for all those. Orthodoxy offers that, but so does being a furry. Rather than a real revival, I think we're experiencing a fracturing of thoughtful people from the increasingly vapid main stream.

  I could tell who the orthobro was because he looked the least happy and the atheist had a lot of nervous laughter. The Calvinist had a beard and the Anglican was British.

  Bottom line here is:<br>It genuinely feels good, powerful, and validating to persuade someone else towards your beliefs. However it takes more humility and empathy &nbsp;to look at another and simply accept that they are just as worthy and cherished just the way they are wherever they currently are.
