Hey guys! I'm a (kind of) atheist and I came over here from Jared's channel; hearing your perspective on things is very interesting and I love learning about how much your book inspires you. I'm endlessly fascinated by religion in general, I'm similar to Jared in that I've been to churches, synagogues, mosques etc. but even though I don't align with a lot of the doctrine, Mormonism has a special place in my heart.

My grandmother was Mormon, and she was one of the kindest people I've ever known. She taught me so much about the world and about God and spirituality. I remember her sitting me on her lap and telling me how much God loves me as she brushed my hair; the first lesson she wanted me to learn was how much I was loved. One of her very last gifts to me before she passed was my very own copy of the Bible and the BoM bound together, with my name engraved in the corner. As much as I don't believe, it's still one of my most precious possessions, and it sits tucked on a shelf in my bedroom.

I've learned a lot since about the struggles that ex-Mormons face, the worst of the churche's history, the gender roles with which I vehemently disagree. But that light of love I was given as a child still shines through. I have quarrels with the organization, the system, but I will always have love for every individual person, and it's something that's allowed me to explore the beliefs of others from a perspective rarely granted to anyone.

I won't ever be a Mormon, but I will always offer food and warmth to any missionaries who come by my door. I will always be kind to my Mormon cousins, and listen to them in their struggles and doubts. Whether or not someone is religious, my heart is fully open to them, just like my grandmother did for me. To me, that is what God's love should be, pure and simple. And everyone deserves kindness, and good family, and a listening ear.

I don't know if you saw my comment on his original video. It took off. I said "Jared's not getting his own planet after this video"

In his defense, the Book of Mormon isn't easily appreciated without being in the right headspace, and certainly not if you're new to it and powering through it. The richest elements of the text are extremely subtle and easily glossed over if you're not paying attention. Alma 42 is a chapter I never really paid much attention to when I was a teen, but after gaining familiarity with the text as a whole, it is clear that Alma 42 is teaching radical doctrine, not just for a 19th century audience, but for our modern audience as well. The Book of Mormon is littered with richness, but I often think it can get obscured because of the way in which it is conveyed, which demands re-reading and careful analysis to appreciate.

I always tell people the Book of Mormon is like a pan of brownies. It's dense. On the surface it doesn't look like much but if you cut into it it's full of rich flavors and textures that need savoring.

I really didn’t hate his review. He clearly looked at it from his point of view… it was funny to me. Definitely not my take, but I appreciated that he told what he thought.

Something I can't take for granted is the answered prayer to the Book of Mormons truthfulness. Many people read it and don't receive their answer, but I did and will forever be grateful. Why did I receive an answer and others didn't? It will be up to those who haven't received their own answer to find out themselves. Moroni answers it for them.

I, as a convert, reading the Book of Mormon for the first time, was thrown onto a roller coaster ride! It was and is an amazing read! And after much in depth study, I know and believe it is divine and inspired by God the Eternal Father!

Really decent video guys. I like the light hearted angle that you aways take on these reaction videos. You really make it fun and enjoyable. Hey you really should consider inviting an awesome LDS apoligist named Travis Andersen at Missionary Discussions. He is awesome and has helped me and so many other people increase our testimonies. Please bring him on!

I’ve been with my wife for 20 years, married for 10, and she just recently had a faith crisis and left the church and left me and my daughter for another man - and I must admit that one of the few things that keeps me happy and smiling lately (besides the gospel) is Ward Radio

I grew up reading the bible, it is an amazing book and inspiring . The Book of Mormon directs all to read it prior to the Book of Mormon quiery about truth. The book of Mormons value is not in replacing the poetry and other rich literature in the bible but in helping a reader understand the bible and the doctrines in it.implied or explicit and to build a foundation in Christ sufficient to allow the building to be built on the top of it, which is the fullness of the gospel, pearl of great price, doctrine and covenants and modern prophets writings.
