Translators have to add those in because those styles of speech don&apos;t exist in English.<br><br>As an example, in JoJo&apos;s Bizarre Adventure Part 3, Jotaro often says &quot;yare yare da ze&quot;, with &quot;yare yare&quot; meaning &quot;good grief&quot;, &quot;da&quot; being added to emphasize a disrespect for norms or authority because he&apos;s a punk, and &quot;ze&quot; being added to emphasize masculinity. In Part 6 his daughter Jolyne says &quot;yare yare da wa&quot;, which is the same thing but &quot;wa&quot; is a feminine variant. Another iconic JoJo line &quot;kono Dio da&quot;, is Dio saying &quot;It was I, Dio&quot; but adding a &quot;da&quot; because he&apos;s an asshole.<br><br>In English you&apos;d have to write Jotaro saying something like &quot;Good grief, fuck the police and I&apos;m manly&quot;, which is far less elegant so they just made it &quot;good grief&quot; and left it at that.

  Hello! Loved this video btw, subbing - it’s nice to hear someone give their unfiltered opinion and not be swayed by popular consensus :) also in the PS1 manual for Silent Hill 1 it gave Harry his occupation as a writer. This was commonplace back in the day - manuals would often give characters context never explored in the games

  I&apos;m imagining Moon&apos;s name is a literal translation of her name in Japanese. Cause Tsuki makes a lot more sense as a name then, Moon.

  The arcade is such a weird memory to me. It was at an arcade here in Australia and it had a whole bunch of torn like, black flaps covering it so you had to be hidden in there. I got as far as the pyramid head fight before me and the person I was playing with died and we stopped. Until this year, that was the only silent hill game I played, LOL<br><br><br>Anyway YouTube recommended me your channel outta da blue so I def gotta watch more!
