The 956 was not “banned”. It did not meet IMSA regulations so it was replaced by the 962 that was designed to meet both Group C and IMSA regulations.

Bellof did NOT survive the 1985 (not '83, btw) crash at Spa.

Moreover, the dynamic of the incident was completely different: for starters, it wasn't raining. Stefan was trying to regain first place on Jacky Ickx after losing it during a pitstop/driver change.
Having caught on Ickx's Porsche, Bellof engaged him at the beginning of the Eau Rogue complex, resulting in the two cars slightly touching. With the combination of high speed and high stresses that the constant changes in pitch, road camber, lateral and vertical loads imposes on the cars due to the morphology of the section, a small contact was enough to start a big crash. Stefan's 956 took flight and landed on the barriers, literally breaking in two and catching fire. Stefan Bellof was assisted on the spot and never even made it to the hospital alive.
Also, afaik Bellof didn't crash at Spa in '83. Just in that damn '85.

All of the group C cars had ground effects. This was not unique even at the very beginning. Even early on the Lancias were often faster, but thirstier and less reliable. You skipped the part where Jaguar and then Mercedes came to dominate the series and the 962 became an obsolete field filler for privateers. The ground effect regs change was slight, it happened years before the The 3.5 liter formula and had no effect on performance. The 3.5 liter cars still had tunnels, generated even more downforce and were significantly lighter and faster though they were slow on the Mulsanne straight and not at all suited for endurance racing.
The real ground effect ban didn't occur until the switch to a "GT" formula in the late '90s, in fact ban is the wrong word because the regs simply required the floor to be flat between the front and rear axles. behind that the cars still had tunnels. This regs change made the cars more pitch sensitive and even more dangerous as evidenced by Mercedes famous backflip at Le Mans. Ground effects have never been banned. Their design is just more regulated now. The 962 was never banned either the whole series just got a reboot. A good place to finish your video would be the 962's swansong, where it won one last Le Mans years after it's heyday (without full length tunnels) by exploiting a loophole in the GT category.

The only time that Jarrier drove a 956 at Le Mans was in 1984 when he finished sixth. The crash in practice being described in the video appears to be that of John Nielsen's Sauber-Mercedes C8 in 1985.

Jaguar and TWR took advantage of the v engine design and had wider ventury tunnels

She wasn't banned. They just asked Herr Singer to make a a wee bit longer (basically) so driver's legs weren't so far in front.

Whilst oversimplifying it a bit all they did to the 856 to create the 962 was to turn tbe suspension arms around which pushed the frony axle ahead of the pedal box. It was still the same paper thin shite chassis.
