  My friend, I don’t know how I stumbled across your channel, but I consider myself lucky. I don’t even sail but this is fantastic. I enjoy the way you clearly explain everything you do and the reasons behind it. It’s cool to watch people who are excellent in what they do, and you clearly excel at what you do!   72 years old and sailing since 8…last 12 years live aboard and solo sailor along the East coast of USA.    In 2007, as crew, stumbled into unexpected 40-50kt (forecast was for 20-25kts) winds and 20+ ft washing machine seas across the Stream while delivering a First 40.7 from Bermuda back to Larchmont NY.    Over the worst of it, 18 hours, we were knocked down twice, lost AP and radar…4 of 7 crew became incapacitated due to seasickness.   We made NYC harbor a few days later safe and sound, and much wiser.  The skipper/owner remained calm and steady throughout, but the experience was eye-opening and I’ve never left the dock since without thorough safety and operational checks.  Thanks for a great tutorial on how, what and most importantly why detailed preparation is so critical.

  It is such a pleasure to listen to a real sailor talking not only about sailing but also common sense safety precautions.  Too many cowboys out there posting sailing videos that are sheer fool hardy and dangerous.  Your boat would fit my total boat in your cockpit with a lot of space to spare, yet you still remain safe by attaching your safety harness whenever you are out of the cabin.  Thank you for setting the standard.

  This guy is the real deal.  “ only 600 miles to go” wow. I take my 25 knots motor boat from nj to Maine. Big respect to a real man that moves with gods breath ❤
