  Im 73, walk 10 miles a day mowing lawns. Was told I have PAD but cat scan and sonogram found no problems so I was told to walk more....like 10 miles a day aint enough

  Wish I had known about this 6 plus years ago, before it escalated to a blood clot that grew across both lungs and over the top of my heart. The clot was called a saddle back because it straddled my heart just like the western style saddle straddles the back of the horse.<br>The Drs estimated that it weighed over 500 grams or in old school a pound of sugar. There were two clots at the back of my knees that’s when they discovered I have two main arteries running through my legs, because of them it saved my life in reality. I have for some reason a complete redundant artery system in my body. I had heard of people having double arteries in one maybe both legs and even in one or both arms. I did not know some people actually have two completely separate arteries through out the whole body, it’s just a shame I did not have the spare heart to go with the redundant artery system.<br>I was in hospital for over a month on high flow oxygen and placed on blood thinners which I now have to live with for the rest of my life.<br>But it does explain why I would get tired quickly as my heart is pumping blood through two systems and not just the one. The specialist that I was looked after while I was in hospital added an ultrasound to patients who complain of being tired all the time to see if they have any redundant arteries in both legs and arms.<br>Because of them micro clots running around my body they ran the ultrasound one me every other day to check on them as well as the two clots in the back of my knees. Because the hospital is a Drs training school I ended up being the pet subject for their end of year term paper. I was poked and prodded and had so many test run on me as well as the hours of questions about my general health growing up as a child and then in to adulthood. At least I never got the chance to be board in hospital.<br>Then the pandemic hit and they had to send me back to the country hospital I came from because it was a lung based infection the last thing I needed was to be in the same CICU with them.<br>Even though I have physically recovered it would seem that the body did not physically recover back to normal. I still have to get the ultrasounds done on the clots behind the knees they are taking for ever to brake down and disperse back into the body. All of the small micro clots are now gone as well as the saddle back clot. But my heart thinks it still there.

  This all works on us being able to get these tests.<br>In UK you can&apos;t walk into doctor surgery and ask for specific tests.<br>You won&apos;t get them if doc doesn&apos;t agree with your Dr google diagnosis.
