What’s the biggest reverse culture shock you’ve had after spending time abroad?

For me, going back to America after living in the UK felt stranger than moving here in the first place. The portion sizes. The work culture. The car dependency. The tipping maths exam at the end of every meal. All of it suddenly felt… very loud.
Reverse culture shock is weird because it’s not just “home feels different.”

It’s realising you’re different.

Tell me the thing that hit you hardest when you went back somewhere you used to understand perfectly.

America is not built for people, it's built for consumers.

You have the sort of voice that should be narrating books on audible. It's so relaxing and calm.

One of the best "reaction" videos I have seen on here - intelligent, thoughtful and somewhat uncomfortable realisations - keep it up girl

Really lovely to hear a considered, quietly spoken American. It's such a lovely accent when it's not screaming at you
