  From a European perspective, this all feels pretty normal. A friend of mine actually married and moved to the US simply because he could… and after two years he came back, calling it a “third‑world country where everyone thinks they’re the main character in their own show.”<br>I live in post‑communist Poland, right next to Ukraine where a war is literally happening — and still, life here is better in many ways.

  Finnish person here. I have a friend who went to study aboard to USA and the experience was completely horrendous. My friend was warned not to do it. The USA system is designed to tear you to shreds. He couldn&apos;t finish the first year of school because basic needs were so expensive. He worked two part-time jobs and he was forced to get a third one and stop studying. Our friend group came together and paid his travelling expenses to get him back to Finland. He is still trying to financially recover 10 years after.
