  Take a trip to find an apartment, try to find one that will be available after your visa appointment. I took a trip at the end of November my appointment was in December and my apartment was available to move-in in January.... This worked for me, so I wasn&apos;t paying for an apartment before I got here and I didn&apos;t have to book temporary lodging.

  “Permanent Residency is still 5 years.” NO. The clock for Permanent Residency begins when you get your first residency card. The average wait for a card is currently FOUR YEARS - which makes PR a nine year wait.<br><br>And, there are NO appointments available for permanent residency applications. Zero. None have been available since 2020. That is, unless you are an EU national (who can live in PT anyway). Nobody else can apply. Even if you meet all the criteria for PR, it’s functionally impossible to get it. That’s the reality. <br><br>This means, anyone promising “golden visas” is committing fraud, because that permanent residency visa is not available, and the government has no timeline for making it available. <br><br>This problem was hidden when people were able to opt for citizenship in 5 years, foregoing PR. Now they will be in for a big, nasty surprise. Please be more clear so that people understand. Please do a separate video on this topic. It is so underreported and so important ❤
