  I always thought it was poetic that the monster essentially stole Victor&apos;s name in the real world, no longer a nameless beast, now he is Frankenstein

  the Clone Troopers in Star Wars got numbers instead of names because they were intended as products, war materiel, by their creators rather than people.... a lot of them ended up naming themselves and each other.

  The Doom Slayer from Doom is another good example of a nameless hero. Sure, we know his title, but not his actual name. This helps establish him as less of a person and more a force of nature: an intelligent, rational, but utterly relentless and merciless avatar of demon-slaying destruction.

  Hollow Knight and Elden Ring are rather creative with this concept. &nbsp;In either case, they have &apos;a&apos; name, &apos;the vessel&apos; and &apos;tarnished&apos; respectively, but it&apos;s something OTHER people call them. &nbsp;It&apos;s something OTHER people label them. &nbsp;There are also parts of their respective plots devoted to WHY they go by those &apos;names&apos;.

  Murderbot is an example of &quot;name magic.&quot; &nbsp;He&apos;s a security robot, mass manufactured, but give himself that name, not out of boiling rage, but out of a rather cynical realization of his function.

  I always find it interesting when some games have sequels and the narrative has to dance around your previous character’s name. <br>Legend of Zelda is a big example, for most of the games you get to name Link, you can name him Link or you can call him something like “Slurmp”. <br>Because of this, any games that reference any other games that happen earlier in the timeline need to use titles, “hero of winds”, “hero of time”, etc. <br>Of course this creates a consequence (intentional or not) where it is now implied that these hero stories are so old that people have forgotten the names of the heroes who have vanquished prior evils.

  Names are so personal to me. They lie at the core of my characters. Sometimes a character develops from a name. I&apos;ll be sitting there, the character won&apos;t work, and I&apos;ll think of a name, and the rest of them completes itself.

  The knight in hollow knight is another which I found really interesting Their lack of emotion helps them feel like a self insert but the lore makes it very clear that they don’t have emotions but i feel like that’s directly meant to contrast you the player who feels emotions caring about the world and the characters
