  So the people who made Little Nightmares became unable to make more Little Nightmares decided to make something with even more fucked up imageries than Little Nightmares.

  If you hang out in front of the Orphanage long enough, Hood actually will say 'Always hated that place', implying they DID in fact live in the orphanage. Thus knew very well about the wooden doll used at the end.

  The horse in the water was probably a reference to the Irish kelpie which is a horse that drowns anyone mainly children curious enough to get on there back by attaching to them and swimming underwater.

  In the end of the game the girls’ s dress is more and more bloody as we progress. Maybe she slowly get her memories back.

  I think it&apos;s more symbolic about the loss of innocence in war. 4 young men go to war. They&apos;re barely more than boys, but they&apos;re exposed to nonstop horror on the battlefield. Through their endless trauma and the violence of war, they murder a young girl, disposing of her body down the well. They are tried and hanged for their crime. In the after life they are all brought together as the innocent children they started out as before the war turned them into monsters. It is up to the girl, the innocent lamb, to condemn them or forgive them. All the whole they&apos;re harassed by the avatars of war. The sniffer being the relentless death hollowing men. The pelican being the thin veneer of self sacrifice in attempting to kill to save your comrade. The mother being the endless waves of young men sent to the war to die. Then of course the girl becomes the lamb, the avatar of innocence lost, and the endless cycle of violence which feeds the war.<br><br>Or I&apos;m just crazy.<br><br>Or maybe I&apos;m digging into it too much.

  So her anger literally consumes her in the end, because she was vengeful, which explains why she attacked her brother, despite her being older- she trusted him, she loved him and he betrayed her, so she wanted to kill him, probably the reason she asked where the others were, is because she wants to kill them too- or at least violently punish them

  Puberty and the loss of innocence are recurring themes. White dresses are associated with innocence, the girl&apos;s dress is soiled by blood in the end - an obvious metaphor for getting a period. Further solidofied by how she curls over in pain multiple times before &quot;giving birth&quot; to the sheep. Rabbits are also a symbol of fertility. <br>The Sniffer also has some themes of puberty. It literally doesn&apos;t fit into its own skin, kinda like how you don&apos;t feel right in your own skin as a teenager. The Sniffer comically rides on a bike too small for it, trying to cling onto childhood.<br>But the Sniffer also represents darker things that can happen during puberty. Specifically, creepy adults starting to take notice and trying to take advantage of you.

  Its so impressive how, despite being compleatly proportional and actualy child sized the charecters are, everything FEEL so vast and impossible.

  They honestly outdid themselves with this game. The lore is insanely creepy, not gonna lie… but it’s also so confusing. I still don’t even fully understand what happened. And I swear, there are some Bible references hidden in there too that a lot of people haven’t really pointed out yet except you!

  I&apos;d like to note the growing aggression the kids are forced to show throughout the game, I don&apos;t believe this game is explicitly a critique or representation of how war impacts and influences kids from a young age but i don&apos;t believe the violence is something to overlook. They develop from a crowbar to canons to actively shooting (albeit dead) people, to a rocket launcher to a TANK. To me at least there is a fairly obvious nod to how war and violence becomes a pathway into desensitising kids towards that, which is both a realistic depiction to how war does impact children, and it also potentially gives more of a reason to those actions.<br><br>The WW2 imagery is clear, the uniforms reminiscent of old English soldiers, the war itself, the destruction and the way the war is evident all throughout the environment. I even first interpreted some of the voice lines of the kids to be a reference to old refugees from cities to countryside; &quot;I wish we could go back&quot; (i think that&apos;s what it was?) being an obvious one to me. I wouldn&apos;t be surprised if the kids were orphaned by the war either. This desensitisation mixed with the desperation of war could be a contributing factor as to why the boys were so okay with what they were doing, if they were manipulated into believing that a sacrifice would end the war, desperation could lead them there.<br><br><br>Theres a bunch of different meanings within this game from what i can tell and im so excited to hear other people&apos;s thoughts because i would love to understand this game more, its artistically impeccible and i&apos;m desperate to learn more about the reasons towards their games design both physically and mechanically.

  so, seemingly the story is that the 4 kids lured the girl into the barn with the dead rabbit, and sacrificed her into the well in their ritual. we don’t know what the ritual was supposed to do, but the sacrifice of the girl seemingly made the well overflow, which is what started the flood. the fact that the girl is first found floating in the water and attacks the boy when she’s first found i think backs this up. especially because the boy says “i thought you were dead” once she wakes up. the visuals in the theatre follows this story of events too.<br><br>edit: im not sure why during the events of the game the girl works together with the rest of the kids if they sacrificed her. i’m thinking maybe since she was knocked out she doesn’t remember what happened to her, but i honestly have no clue.
