  As an FYI because I like yapping about fabric– the biggest difference between denim and chambray (both traditionally cotton fabrics with an indigo dyed warp and an undyed weft yarn) is that denim is a twill and chambray is a plainweave, and generally lighter in weight (though a lightweight denim can be very similar to a chambray in look/feel/drape).

  After seeing all the bloomer-type trousers I decided to make my own but with deadstock cotton sateen in an aggressively lime green and black checkerboard print, huge pockets and random scraps of mesh and lace. I&apos;ve had more than one person call them jester trousers which is absolutely what I was going for. I finished them just before my period and they were a delight to wear. The pockets held my TENS machine, emergency snacks and phone and I didn&apos;t overheat in them like I do joggers. I&apos;m going to make approximately 347 more pairs in various lengths and fabrics for every season.<br><br>The way I did the elastic looks a lot like those trousers. I bought a huge roll of 5cm wide elastic from vinted and just made sure to stitch down the middle of it all the way around to hold it in place (I hate when elastic waistbands fold and twist in a waistband, drives me insane) but not attached to the main trousers themselves so if/when it needs replacing, I only need to under that seam and a tiny portion of the waistband seam. I&apos;m incredibly autistic about exposed seams so I don&apos;t want to have to unpick a bunch of french or flat-felled seams.<br><br>Ohhh and before I forget, the place I bought the crazy checkerboard fabric from also sometimes have deadstock fabric from Beyond Nine. They&apos;re called The New Craft House.

  I just want to second the stylish glasses tip. I normally wear black and denim because it makes me feel comfortable, but my eyeglasses are bright red! It works so well.
