  her framing the therapist asking for a final session as “begging” is CRAZY. i have never worked with a therapist who didn’t recommend a designated final session. ending the patient/therapist relationship with no warning is often a sign of deeper issues, so booking a specific final appointment gives practitioners time to collect notes and thoughts regarding future care and overall growth and eliminate the possibility of a worsening condition. truly hope this woman (and honestly her therapist and psychiatrist as well) gets the help she needs.

  Telling your psychiatrist about libido issues, especially if you're taking a medication for ADHD, that can negatively impact libido, is a completely reasonable suggestion from the therapist, because I'm assuming that's what she said and not "tell your psychiatrist every detail of your sex life"

  I'm on SSRIs and immediately knew that the reason her therapist recommended she inform the psych was because psych meds can often cause loss of libido

  Dude, this is terrifying. As a doctor, the pathology this patient carries is the nightmare fuel of every provider. She is very very sick.

  For the therapist recommending going to the psychiatrist for the intimacy issues - medications are known to mess with intimacy a looot and the therapist likely wanted to make sure it wasn’t a medication issue before going further.
