I disaster that thankfully had more lives saved than lost. R.I.P. to those who died in the sinking.

I hope there will be a documentary on the sinking of the SS Norge that claimed 635 lives in 1904. It's rarely talked about.

I can't believe I've never heard of this tragedy. How awful, especially when people panic. The woman who stashed the children in the rope locker, very smart. Those who drowned needlessly, sad. It lays on the sea floor with other ships.

My grandfather Kirilo Krilenki was aboard the Volturno. He and his cousin were rescued by the SS Seydlitz. He never said much about it. What I have learned I've learned from genealogy research and newspaper archives. I've also learned much from the man interviewed in this documentary, Arnold Graboyes. He put together an extensive website full of information about the Volturno disaster.

So why was the Volturno, on the same northern route approximately, the Titanic was?? After the sinking of the Titanic, the colder northern, shipping routes were changed farther south, to avoid icebergs, and colder waters. I know in this story, it wouldn't of made much of a difference, but still 🤔.<br> I've never come across this ship fire, and sinking before!! A good documentary 👍!!!

I'm surprised you haven't done the Tri-State Tornado.

My Great Grandparents came over on the SS Volturno in April 1910. I’m glad they didn’t wait 3 years.
