Unsponsored, and included a 10 minute segment to recognize the entire crew. Huge respect for such a well done documentary on the eve of her 50th anniversary being lost.

I am deeply impressed by how the crew of the Anderson tried to help the Fitzgerald, despite being in the same trouble as they were.

How is it that youtubers like this guy without a sponsor are able to make better content than many film or TV studios these days? Felt like 30 mins not 2 hours but in a good way.

Ending it with the full bell-ringing ceremony and a brief description of each man who went down was beautiful. I'm sure I'm not the only one choked up a bit.

Big studios take note- this is how a documentary SHOULD be done. Excellent work

It wasn't planned, but I happened to be watching this documentary on the 50th anniversary of the sinking of Edmund Fitzgerald. As a former U.S. Navy sailor, the tribute to the crew at the end of the documentary was deeply moving.

To all Maritime sailors, past and present, thank you for your courage and sacrifice.

Thank you to PartTimeExplorer for putting together this fantastic documentary.

Multi-million dollar companies don't even come close to producing the documentaries as well as Part-Time Explorer does. Your style, narration, video editing, and extensive research really puts the viewer back in time - so much so if feels like you travel to another time in history. You become so invested in all aspects of the story being told.

Absolutely phenomenal work, it's unbelievable.

The length of this video is perfect. I'm always disappointed when someone takes a complicated, multifaceted situation and turns it into a 10-20 min video. It's a disservice to those who lost their lives and channels like yours stand out by putting the work into truly presenting stories. Keep it up.

Captain Bernie Cooper of the Arthur Anderson was a hero and a very honourable man. The fact he turned around his vessel in the middle of that storm to provide help to the Fitzgerald is absolutely heroic.
RIP to everyone who never made it back home after that particular journey.

A couple hours before the Fitz disappeared on Lake Superior I was standing on the beach at Ludington MI watching waves crashing into our seven-story tall lighthouse and splash easily twice its height. After I got done at the beach I rode my bike to our carferry docks to watch one of our crosslake carferries attempt to dock after a very rough crossing. She really could have used a tug to help her dock, but we didn't have harbor tugs. They made it, but it was a battle! Riding my single-speed Huffy home from the docks (I was almost 12) required a valiant effort as I was pedaling against the wind as I lived between the docks and the beach. Quite a memorable day! I awoke the next morning to the news the Fitz was missing and presumed sunk. We were stunned, to say the least!

Your inclusion of the ringing of the bell with name calls and giving each crew member a moment of their own is something rare. Thank you, this was a touching addition.

Replacing the bell with a replica with everyone's name on it is incredibly touching.
