I took it right to the edge: pancreatidice, a stomach ulcer, withdraw, and convulsion. Liver was inflamed yet not damaged. I have been sober since 7.13.23 2.5 years

Never heard of the Meld score. Very interesting. I've averaged about 7 drinks a day for the past 4 years. A scan showed my liver is larger than 88% of the general population. Liver is about 17.9 cm while 14.9 cm is average. Thankfully no sign of cirrhosis and my blood tests show enzymes are normal. The exact wording from the report, "The liver demonstrates increased echogenicity suggestive of hepatic steatosis." I had lots of symptoms when my drinking was at its peak about 1 1/2 years ago. Sweating, eczema, tingling and numbness in the feet and hands, high blood pressure and increased heart rate. Was able to cut back for quite a few months, but I started up again. I should know better, but the bottle is a powerful magnet. Thanks for posting this interview. I'm going to give another shot at cutting out alcohol. I'm getting too old for it and want to see my grandchildren grow up.

Another one on the same timeline as you both. June 20th was my 4 year sober mark and anniversary of my hospitalization and diagnosis. Thanks for airing this. I was thinking about sharing my own journey on my channel, because Liver health awareness is still pretty underwhelming, which is so shocking considering the attention given to kidney transplantation.
