Hey family ❤
Just got this powerful follow-up from Jacob himself after our episode dropped.

If you’re sitting there with cirrhosis, failing liver numbers, or that voice saying “I’ve tried everything,” listen — Jacob beat liver failure WITHOUT a transplant. He’s not selling anything. He’s just a sober guy who refused to die and is now paying it forward.
His exact words:
Sobriety is #1. Period.
Then he cut ALL sugar (even fruit) in the beginning so his liver could finally rest and heal.
He did ALA infusions at Forum Health (now takes the pills daily), loaded up on Theracurmin HP (curcumin that actually reduces inflammation and fibrosis — he linked the study), NAC, glutathione, high-quality probiotics, omega-3s, B-complex, CoQ10, K2+D3, and a few others he listed.
Exercise was his new “drink”: started with just ONE workout a week, built to 3x weights, now 5 days with cardio. Simple. Consistent. Life-changing.
Jacob’s living proof it’s possible.
If you’re out of options, reach out to him directly:
📧 feel.sober.good@gmail.com
IG/TikTok/FB: @feel_sober_good
He’ll answer. No gatekeeping.
This is exactly why I started The Willpower Podcast — raw stories + real steps that actually work. If Jacob’s protocol gave you even a spark of hope, drop a 🔥 below and tell us where you are in your recovery. We read every single one.
You’re not alone.
Keep fighting.
We’re building something bigger together. More episodes, more survivors, more lives saved.
Love you all,
Will

7 weeks and 1 day since my liver transplant. Still in recovery but I feel a million times stronger and clear. I got blessed with this liver transplant. I definitely was on deaths doorstep. I’ve drank since my teens (38 now) but I took it to the next level over the last two years. I went down a path of darkness after my husbands death, finally lost complete control and didn’t care. Phew the stories I could tell and the shame that overcomes me when I revisit those times. But listening to others story brings me back to the now, I appreciate podcasts/Youtubers like y’all. You guys truly are serving a community that needs your help because living in your own shame of addiction with no outlet can expedite the process of dying from the bottle. I was almost there. Appreciate you all sharing your lives with the world and putting in the time and effort to produce these videos. ❤

I really wish he would have talked more about what he ate and more in depth about what functional medicines he took.

Great point about boredom Will. I have listened to people talk about this topic, and they always seem to miss the point. Boredom was and still is an absolutely massive trigger for me. Quite a few people counter it by saying that alcohol does not make you more interesting, but they are missing the point completely. We are not talking about being a boring person, or wanting to be more interesting. We are talking about boredom, full stop. Boredom with life, where absolutely nothing feels interesting. That despite the fact you might love music, or playing an instrument, or watching football, or taking a hike in nature: nothing sounds or feels good. It doesn't even matter if you know logically that you should enjoy these things because you previously have enjoyed them. It is that moment in time where absolutely nothing sounds or feels interesting. There is a total disconnect between the logical mind and the emotion. You feel nothing, which I imagine ties in quite closely with depression. And this isn't a new feeling for me. I can remember as far back as being a tiny 8 year old kid and absolutely hating this feeling of boredom. At 8! I mean what in the world is going on in the mind of an 8 year old kid who is struggling with boredom? Surely I should have been out building forts, playing football with my friends...heck...even playing a computer game! But there I was, sat in our kitchen, complaining to my poor Mother about being bored. And no matter what she would suggest I do, nothing sounded good. And those episodes have never left me. Do bear in mind, they were only episodic. There were plenty of times as a kid where I would be happily entertained, but when those boredom episodes came knocking on the door, it was an unmistakable feeling.

Got into Bicycling at the beginning of my sobriety, Best thing I ever did, not only does it relieve stress, it consumes that same amount of time (3 hours) I would come and start the drinking, after work.

I have noticed a unique common denominator with all your guests Will, yourself included. You all have an amazing light in your eyes, and practically all of them appear to be naturally empathic. I wonder what the correlation might be between being an empath and suffering with substance abuse. Many sources suggest empaths are born with heightened sensitivity, and although an empath is also developed through their formative years, they appear to enter into this world as empaths. So it seems there is a combination of nature and nurture at play here. I know for myself, alcohol was always a tool or vehicle to shut off the internal noise I grew so accustomed to hearing as a child. I was extremely sensitive, and still am to this day. When we are drinking, the noise is temporarily dampened. And the noise? Well...that is another separate topic entirely, and can range from actually feeling other people's emotions, to self hate talk about not being good / interesting / funny / handsome enough. It's incessant, but booze temporarily quietens that. Which brings me back to the original question about the correlation between being an empath and suffering with substance abuse.

I think it is a little like drowning out in the middle of the ocean. Imagine you are under water. Logically you know you are about to drown, but you are still going to try to get up to the surface even if it's for 10 seconds of air. The 10 seconds of air is a somewhat futile rest-bite given the inevitable, but we would still pursue it. In a similar way, I feel addicts view alcohol this way. They know fine well they are ultimately going to suffer, but they will still reach for alcohol if it means even a tiny period of shelter from the storm.

16 months sober here. I was a mess. I didn't even know how old I was or what year it was. I can't believe I got out of hell, but I did it and feel amazing now. Even after 12 months sober I felt weird, like my nerves were on edge but that's faded a lot. Good luck people.
