  My mom passed last night and she made the most horrible sound I've ever heard before she left us. The funeral home sent this tiny woman to collect her and I thought of you and your stories of solo pick ups. She let us cover mom with a linen like "sheet", help roll her and then help put her into the body bag. She then let us, her daughters, say goodbye and we got to zip the bottom of the bag closed. Those final moments were so powerful and almost a ceremonial goodbye. This lovely woman then let us guide the foot of the cot through the hospice with her, to the back of the vehicle. Her kindness and demeanor helped us put that awful last breath sound out of our minds for a few moments so we could say farewell to the precious cargo she carried. Thank you and those like her whose compassion shines through at those moments. It sounds like you are very open to letting family do whatever they wish within lawful parameters. Have you ever let family assist with some of these things?

  I just want to say, Youre videos have changed my perspective on not only death but on life. I know it’s just YouTube videos but it really has given me peace in life to know what being a mortician really is and how death really works and inspires me.

  I attended a funeral yesterday for a longtime family friend. Upon seeing what the morticians had done to prepare the body for viewing, one of the decedent’s family said that they’re so happy that final memory that they’ll have of their mom is of how “herself” she looked, in contrast to the state that she had been in during her last days in the hospital. <br><br>Just thought you might like to hear that, Lauren. People don’t know how much your work matters until you’re doing it for them. You and people like you really do make a big, positive difference in a family’s hardest moments.

  QUESTION:<br>Background: my beloved uncle ended his life via suspension. My dad found him 3 days later. He was indoors, no insects, summer but very mild heat, humidity between 65-80%. <br>Police obviously gossiped because rumour rapidly spread that the scene was the worst they’d seen. My dad is too traumatised by what he saw to discuss it, but did say that he couldn’t tell what he was looking at. Carpets were pulled up, &amp; a professional cleaning team were required. I later found brown fluid splatter on a rafter. We weren’t permitted to have a viewing.<br>Questions: what did my dad see? And why would it have been so shocking after only 3 days without animal or insect damage? <br><br>Please don’t sugar coat. This has been playing on my mind for 19 years now, I can’t get past it until I understand the science. <br><br>Thank you in advance for your reply! ❤

  Lauren when my grandfather passed away 2 years ago .. he passed away at home from dementia. As we were waiting for the funeral home to pick him up we had a pastor show up to pray with the family and I’ll never forget this moment. As we were praying and crying the pastor was reading a scripture when the doorbell rang exactly how my grandpa used to ring the doorbell.. very fast.. when we opened the door there was nobody at the door .. we even checked the door cam and nothing but there was this strong super natural feeling in the room as we sat there with my grandmas lifeless body.. and it gave me this peace that I knew he was still with us! I was wondering if anyone else had any supernatural stories from when there loved ones passed.. the last moments… I’d love to hear them!
