  When professors who study fascism leave the usa and head to Canada, because of the current political climate, that should be a wake-up call, just saying.

  From a Dutch guy:  The Germans are well aware of their history and deal with it in an admirably adult way. They don't change history because it is " inconveniant " but take responsability for it. They earn a big compliment for that. If they compare the present situation in the USA with their own history, all alarm bells should ring like hell!!! I visited an airshow in the USA a couple of weeks ago, crossing the border by car from Canada. That was the last time. Sorry, I don't want to be treated like a criminal. I would like to be welcomed as a tourist instead of barely tolerated and treated like scum. The fact that the present situation is being tolerated by the majority blows my mind. I am sincerely scared.

  I’m from Spain and I fully agree with my German colleagues: you’re heading down the same path, but now you have the example to see it, and since it happened in Europe, it’ll be your turn to fight for your freedom.

  It's not just us Germans who are concerned, it's pretty much whole Europe and some other countries in the world too. So why is that? Because we know history and we see it repeat itself in the worst way possible right now. I really wish that the majority of the USAsians would go on the streets and protest. And stop this madness in time. Something needs to be done for sure. We don't need a second Russia or China.

  I’ve had the privilege of growing up in West Germany and talking to my grandfather who was drafted to the Wehrmacht. My opinion: Your last opportunity to save democracy in a free and fair election was last November. The midterms will be not quite rigged enough to guarantee a facist victory but then it’s game over.<br><br>You cannot expect to stop an autocracy when it’s established.

  I&apos;m Belgium, I worked for a US company and told my management: I will not do any meeting/travel in US for next 4 years... It is not longer safe.
