  Rick Allen the drummer, lost his left arm in a car accident, when he was only 21 years old. He was close to depression, but his group said that no one would replace him, and they waited for him until he could recover and learn to play again. True loyalty and friendship.

  The drummer lost his arm in a car accident. The band wouldn’t replace him, and waited for him to recover. From what I understand, the drum kit was specially made with pedals to be used by his feet.

  Fantastic reaction. The look on your faces when you realized Rick Allen only had one arm. Rick is the Thunder God of drumming. A great friendship. Great group.

  Glad you had the audio!  You are correct, drummer has one arm - he lost it in a car accident while they were touring.  Learned how to drum all over again.  Bad ass.

  They were already ROCK Stars because of their previous album- Pyromania- but this song and album- Hysteria- made them GLOBAL SUPERSTARS. They are still out there playing stadiums.

  Def Leppard were THE definition of 80's Arena Rock, nothing but hit after hit after HIT. If someone says they don't like 'em, that's someone you simply can't trust.

  It's insane that he had both arms and they had put out three albums before the car accident.  Then he learned to play the parts of his missing arm with his feet, and developed a custom drum kit to make it all happen.  Inspiring.  They now have many more albums with Allen's one arm drum playing.
