as soon as you said "time isn't ours, its Gods." I knew the video was going to be good. Thanks! from a mum of a 2 month old, and a 16 month old, in Germany.

My grandmother had everything done by 2pm I never saw her doing chores after that time. Her hous was tidy and minimal, she was always smelling clean and always ready to wear an outerwear , purse and powder ready to go out at any time

I did something very similar. Before I went to bed I put a load of clothes in the washer but didn’t start it until I woke up. So this is how my routine worked: up at 4 am, drink water, start washer, stretch, run to the gym (we lived about 3 miles from the gym), workout, run/walk back home, shower, get dressed and ready for day, quiet time with the Lord, start breakfast by 6:30 and throw clothes in dryer, husband up and out the door by 6:45, wake kids up at 7, kids eat, get dressed brush teeth, make beds, and back at the table by 8:30- homeschool from 8:30-10:30, put away school supplies (if a child wants to continue with their school they can), fold laundry and everyone puts it away, tidy, play, prep lunch and eat from 10:30-12:30, clean up from lunch, prep for dinner, then free time from 1-4- either going to homeschool group or just adventuring or staying home and reading, playing, etc, home by 4 to start dinner to eat by 6 plus having snacks at 4, clean up kitchen by 6:45 and kids having baths supervised by dad from 6:30-7:30, cuddling or watching a movie until kids bedtime at 8:30, couple time until my bedtime at 9:30. During the downtimes there is always something to pick up or wipe down- we just tidy as we go. We schooled only 4 days a week, M-Th, Fridays was bedding changes and sheets/towels wash day and any deep cleaning and the kids and I are done by 3pm so we can do a family night whether it’s a home or going out, everything meal wise prepped for Saturday and Sunday on Friday so we have Saturday free for adventuring or meeting up with friends and other kids during the day to play and socialize and Sundays was our Sabbath- we rested and went to church and either went to a friends house after church for a potluck or hosted at our house or just did a drive around after church as I would pack a cooler for a trip day. Getting everything done first thing in the morning, and making sure all rooms were tidied before bed and my kitchen cleaned and dishes put away before I went to bed created a focused day when I woke up and if we just decided to skip school or any chores, it didn’t impact us because we tidied as we went all day long so nothing overwhelming to face after a day off. Routines may be boring to some but they allow more time for your family, your spouse and yourself without having total overwhelm every day.

Planning the day backwards is genius 🥰 "Everything" being "the bare minimum for sanity" here is key. The secondary list being reframed as the cherry on top makes it such a reward instead of ashamed of not getting it done. That sounds so liberating! Thank you for sharing 🙏

First thing I learned at Christian college for my education degree… Steven Covey, begin with an end in mind. Always start with the ideal goal and work backwards. 😊 I still do it at 52 with all my goals. ❤

I’m not a mom. I’m not even married. I’m a 26yo corporate scientist. This is an amazing video and applicable to many walks of life. I hope I am like you when I am a mom. This is impressive.
