  Years ago I spotted a 1968 Z28 for sale in the newspaper, It had all the right pieces on it, cold air induction cowl, 750 Holley Carb, 4.56 positrac diff, Lemans blue, Muncie 4 speed with HD clutch.  I can say without a word of exaggeration that this was one of the most impressive street cars Ive ridden in,  back in the 80's. It really was incredibly quick. loud and could handle.

  I have 2,sbc  smoke ram intake manifolds with twin carb plates new in my attic i bought as a teen in high school in the 1970's

  The Best thing that Chevrolet did when they built the Camaro was using an actual frame in the front half to where Ford and Chrysler were 100 percent &quot;Unit Bodies&quot;. <br> That allowed the Camaro superior chassis rigidity and handling that made them so popular and easy to swap in a Big Block. GM engines, transmissions, and many other parts interchanged. <br> That made &quot;upgrading&quot; to high performance easy, especially when you started with an affordable 6 cylinder base line car. <br> Ford and Chrysler were Not so easily modified which made GM the King of the poor man&apos;s performance.

  There are at least 2 full hemi 302 Camaro&apos;s with 600 hp. that Smokey built and sold to collector&apos;s. &nbsp;The picture of those Porcupine heads are from a big block Chevy and won&apos;t fit the Mouse motor could even be that 1963 Chevy Mystery 427 NASCAR engine ?

  Hey look here Smokey Yunick never got the recognition for GM like Carrol Shelby . &nbsp;It’s a shame that there was never signature cars like Shelby . &nbsp; It’s almost like the 1963 mystery motor . But yeah those beads are desired today . &nbsp;There are those like me that want some one to remake them . &nbsp;If we can get a package deal with intake and pistons . &nbsp;We can supply the block crank and &nbsp;rods . &nbsp;I’d love to bolt a set to a 400 small block of a 350 built with a 327 crank in a 400 small block that would be the old 348 bore and stroke . &nbsp;Theres a lot of hold back from GM . &nbsp;They didn’t wanna listen to Zora duntov . &nbsp;So why would they wanna listen to Smokey ? &nbsp;They didn’t like waves or riding them out to win big . &nbsp;They never made up excuses like ford and dodge . They just wanted enough to stay competitive. &nbsp;An if it wasn’t hell the owners and drivers would figure out how to get into victory lane . &nbsp;I always wanted to see a real hemi 426 head scaled down to bolt on a small.block Chevy engine. &nbsp;A little elephant engine say 377. 350 block 400 crank or a 400 block with 327 or 350 crank in it . &nbsp;Hemi heads 180 exhaust valves and 225/230 intake valves . The 426 used 194 exhaust valves so think ? &nbsp;Intake valves very popular Chevy small block 194 ! &nbsp;Well hemi gets more in and more out ! &nbsp;The facts are the facts . &nbsp;That’s why NHRA top fuel dragsters still run the hemi today 10,000 horse power ! &nbsp;Richard petty 426 hemi 1968-1969 nascar hemi 800 horse power over 1000 pounds of torq ! &nbsp;If you can say HEMI &nbsp;then thats all you need to know ! &nbsp;The only thing for years in the dodge brothers mind was make sure it out runs ford and last longer . &nbsp;Easer to work on and cheaper to buy . &nbsp;Because they worked for ford . &nbsp;An when oh Henry wouldn’t come off more money or a big share in the company . &nbsp;He told the two brothers no and that they would continue to work for what they was getting . &nbsp;They looked at ol Henry and said he would regret the day he crossed the &nbsp;Dodge brothers . &nbsp;They started there own company &nbsp; Added Plymouth and later on Chrysler to there line up with desosto . &nbsp;They had there own version of GM to torment Henry . &nbsp;We have to remember Henry jumped off the back of a horse drawen wagon to chase beside of a auto . &nbsp;Driven by a man with a big handle bar mustache. &nbsp;Saying Mr Mr what’s does it run off of ? &nbsp;With a Scottish accent he said combustion stroke Sonny combustion stroke . &nbsp;What’s your name Mr ? &nbsp;Mr Cadillac sonny Mr Cadillac &nbsp;! An Henry catches back up with his mom and dad then and the wagon . &nbsp;So we see what ford came from . &nbsp;An we see what ford could have been ! &nbsp;Just think if the dodge brothers got more money and stayed ? &nbsp; Ford hemi engine ? &nbsp;Who knows ? &nbsp;What Henry throw away became one of the top three . &nbsp;It could have been the top two , well maybe the only one top one ! &nbsp; &nbsp;Think ford power wagon ? &nbsp;Yeah you’ll regret the day you crossed the dodge brothers !

  It&apos;s to bad that Edelbrock couldn&apos;t make those Chevy Hemi heads now one set would be for street driving and the other heads would be for the race track. I&apos;m thinking with today&apos;s technology in casting of metals I&apos;m thinking it could be a hit for everyone.

It&apos;s like walking into a fastenal and being condensened by the guy rolling his eyes. I can deal with shouldered, flanged, self locking washers, metric and imperial sizes. Not to mention the thread type. But &quot;vertical&quot; and &quot;horizontal&quot; bolts in the 60&apos;s?! It wasn&apos;t the Camaro moon launch. Pressurized cowl induction? I must be going back to the future past. The 302 HEMI. Have you done a piece on the 302&quot; Tunnel Port engine?
