If some clown salesman asks me what I can pay per month, I would tell him (civilly) that my finances are none of his business. I would ask for an out the door price. If they can’t come up with that, I’ll walk.

My local car dealer called me trying to get me to “upgrade.”…I said “no thanks, not interested.” When he asked why, I said “ too techy, too expensive.” I told him a newer vehicle would actually be a downgrade.

Back in 2016 I had a deal going for a Explorer Sport. We were only $700 apart. They wouldn't budge. I said ok, see ya. The guy said are you really gonna blow a deal for a few hundred dollars. I said are you. I told them if I left I wasn't coming back. I left. 2 days later they called and agreed. I never went back. 2 months go by. The car finally sold. I guess my super power in the showroom is I really don't care if I get the car or not. There will always be others.

all I care about is the OTD, nothing else.Last new car I bought was an Accord. I told them I will pay sticker price out the door, no tax or anything else. "Take it or leave it." They took the deal and they made money on the deal.
