  It’s not just HISD, or public schools. I work at a private school and the parents and students are entitled and the admin always blames the teacher cause they don’t want to upset the parents and lose the money.

  The kids are bad, because the adults are allowing this behavior, starting with the parents, &nbsp;district board members, administrators, and even some cases the teachers.

  I took early retirement in another state in 2006. 3 main reasons:<br><br>1. Health issues exacerbated by the stress of numbers 2 &amp; 3<br>2. Kids misbehavior defended by entitled parents who in turn were backed up by administrators. Students rewarded for disrespect, everything was the teacher’s fault. <br>3. As an experienced math teacher whose students consistently had extremely high test scores, I was increasingly being straitjacketed by school board rules. “It’s October 3rd, you should be on page 86 and you must use these examples.” Guidelines set by people who hadn’t been in a classroom in 30+ years.

  Teachers aren’t allowed to give zeros anymore for assignments not being completed and turned in.

  It’s not the kids, it’s the adults. The parents that allow the foolishness. Of course, the kids gonna act a fool. Those roots run deep. &nbsp;Sad situation. Retired educator here. God bless them all!
