  I bought a prom dress, decided it looked too much like a wedding dress, and then bought a different dress. Years later I wore the original dress for my actual wedding.

  Everyone said I’d regret it if I didn’t go to Prom.  I stayed home, played video games that night, and I haven’t regretted it a second of my life.

  As a foreigner, I was convinced that the extreme importance placed on the prom night was largely a movie invention. Finding out that you guys do this for real was almost unbelievable.

  the whole "voting disabled kids for prom queen/king" is so gross to me bc i'm disabled and autistic and apparently, a bunch of popular kids were planning on nominating me for prom queen/king. they did it to humiliate me. it's disgusting

  I hate events where you can't actually talk to people, you have to scream in their ear or pretend that you understand what they are saying and laugh while dancing. The most mind numbing and boring experiences, that's why on my prom i just sat outside talking to my friends.

  In my opinion prom is a big part of the "once you hit 18 you gotta have your shit together and be An Adult, otherwise you're a failure" mentality

  I have a disabled friend who had complained to me that a lot of they’re“friends” don’t feel like friends and they feel like they hang around them because they feel bad.
