  It&apos;s very telling for all of Funny&apos;s declarations of being chosen, he&apos;s never seen talking to him unlike his follower, Blackmore, implying that Funny is the furthest thing that the Good Shepherd would tolerate as his ultimate goal goes against his teachings entirely- as a truly sinful being without even realizing it.

  I think Johnny represents the real message of Jesus very well. He is painfully human but what makes the holy corpse favor him is his unrelenting spirit. Johnny&apos;s drive is so potent that even when he is in doubt and crying it seems like fate suddenly tosses him a bone and he is able to turn the tables in his own favor. It&apos;s like God&apos;s gratitude and grace to Johnny for not giving up on Him even though he feels abandoned by human society. <br>So for Johnny the holy corpse is an opportunity, while for gyro it&apos;s a test to see if he will truly understand the ball on the net and his true purpose, which is to become the ultimate sacrifice for Johnny, the Jesus-figure dies to save the soul of the faithful believer. <br>In the end Johnny is left with two items; gyro&apos;s corpse, which he guards faithfully (like Joseph did with the body of Jesus) and the steel ball. No holy corpse or 50 million. Just memories. And Johnny smiles because he understands that in a way he was the winner of the sbr race because what he got can&apos;t be bought with 50 million. It&apos;s also rather cute and poetic that he meets his future wife in that same boat he takes.

  It took me a bit to realize that the power of the holy corpse is a perversion of the true reason for the crucifixion of Christ. The entire point of it has been built up since as early as Genesis and onward, the idea that one person would come and effectively cleanse humanity, the use of sacrifices such as lambs, goats, and oxes were essentially a foreshadowing of how one being would take the blame and pain for the whole unit.<br><br>The idea that one would take all the pain and suffering for the rest of humanity, that was the point and what &quot;bearing your cross&quot; means to essentially learn to carry not just your own suffering, faults, and transgressions but to also take the cross of others. It is the ultimate form of love.<br><br>Funny, and his use of the corpse, is essentially the opposite. He&apos;s constantly using fancy words but in the end he wants to essentially place the fault, and suffering on other people so that he and &quot;his people&quot; can thrive. It&apos;s the exact opposite of what the Messiah would&apos;ve wanted and it&apos;s telling he never gets a meeting from the holy shepherd despite being the one who wants to achieve greatness so much.<br><br>One thing I really loved about funny valentines writing is how compelling he is, to the point that even outside the pages he convinces other readers that he is somehow great and even on the right side. However if you objectively look at his actions they are horrible by all accounts, he wishes to store and burden Lucy steel with the power of the corpse, he wishes to use the corpse so other people are burdened with mis fortune while he gets to thrive, and even in the end he soils his father&apos;s own name and the handkerchief he was given in his pursuit of &quot;justice&quot;. It&apos;s so telling that Johnny is his opponent, someone who was willing to beat the grief of Gyro being gone if it meant funny valentine couldn&apos;t torment people any longer, and in the end Johnny did a very microcosmic but similar act to the holy shepherd, taking the disease of his family onto him and dying to take his family&apos;s curse with him.<br><br>Johnny can be a bit of a cry baby at times but he&apos;s at least honest and does what he truly believes is right. Funny valentine may be a visionary and more than willing to soil his hands for that vision, but whoever said that vision he so wants was at all good or moral?

  In JojoLion Johnny says he won&apos;t use the holy corpse anymore, but then he becomes a new holy corpse.
