  Valentine's personality is perfectly reflected in D4C. He is selfless and willing to sacrifice his life for his goals and his country, but doesn't trust anyone other than himself to fulfill those goals. Someone who went so far into selflessness that he came back around to pure selfishness.

  Dio was often stated to be charismatic, which is why he had all his followers. But with Valentine, you actually get to see that charisma. Best manifested in the amount of people who think Valentine was in the right, and Johnny was a selfish villain

  The thing about Valentine is that he doesn’t say the full breath of the consequences of his actions, using grandiose of honorable speech to hide the cost of his dream.<br><br>Truly, it seems noble, but he is by definition through the consequences of his dream nothing more than a medieval king. Sacrificing the lives of countless others just so his Kingdom can remain.
