  I don&apos;t think John Rod was defeated here. I don&apos;t even think it was damaged, it looks more like it was bent but not hurt. It would have been way to bold for the cold and calculative unknown stand user to just throw his stand into the enemy right ahead knowing it can be harmed easily. John Rod could have destroyed the whole windshield yet he just entered the submarine and triggered the antenna to offer them a deal. It looks like a calculated move. Their intention was not to wipe the gang in the submarine.

  I wonder with it being a military stand user, if John Rod is supposed to be based off the somewhat popular science fiction weapon of tungsten rods being shot from a satellite in orbit. The kinetic bombardment idea is traditionally used in media being used by the US military or as another name being the “Rods from God” which might connect it with its angelic appearance when it first appeared. So it might be a situation like Planet Waves and it’s literally falling from space.
