Things I forgot to mention:
Battery life is about what FiiO claims. You can also set it to limit charging to preserve the battery.
The screen can be rotated 180 degrees to put the headphone sockets at the bottom and USB ports at the top, but that leaves the external buttons upside down.

FiiO M33: https://bloomaudio.com/products/fiio-m33

If you have one, comments with your experience are welcome.

Thank you to sponsors Bloom Audio,
https://bloomaudio.com/
and Campfire Audio
https://campfireaudio.com

Don't forget to read the FAQ! https://hear.audio/faq

Essential review for anyone already owning previous FiiO players.

Probably one of the best reviews on YouTube I’ve watched so far, really structured and organized clear into the point

The 8gb’s of RAM seems to help with speed and general usability of this device when switching between apps and menus. I compared it to the ibasso DX270 which only has 4gb of RAM and the FIIO is considerably faster, or said differently the ibasso DX270 runs sluggish. I believe the M33 also has a slightly better CPU but the overall package is plenty fast for day-to-day use.

This thing sounds better in DAC desktop mode than the Chord Mojo 2, better than the FiiO K7BT, and better than the WiiM Ultra! I fell in love with R2R after listening to it for just two days. I immediately sent it back to Amazon and bought the FiiO K17 and FiiO Warmer to get this sound signature on steroids. I don’t want anything else now—I’ve stopped searching. That’s a great success.

I'm looking for a Violectric house sound and I'm hoping the M33 R2R can reproduce that organic warmth and detail in a portable form factor.

I would only use it outside, so the external power is moot.

Been thinking about a DAP. Using some great BT cans and iems currently with a KA15 lying around.

My discrete class A amp is only 400 mw. Packs a toroidal transformer and powers anything I've had effortlessly in medium gain.
