Have had the earmen LAmp2 for several months and love it. Has been my go to in the office and travelling in particular. Great sound, you could use this as your desktop easily. I also havent experienced any microphonics at all with my unit and it has been knocked around travelling. Maybe i got lucky with my tubes.

What I find astonishing is how few people understand that the Cayin RU9 exists and it supports Bluetooth connectivity, a real convenience as it is a relatively large unit and having it wired to a phone and both in a pocket is quite tight. The L-Amp mk2 would be much more useable on the go if it supported Bluetooth, otherwise it is a transportable unit, intended to be moved from one desktop to another.

It's a wonderful SOUND portable tube dongle. Used with MacBeth and Violetta so far. Always plug in the IEM cable in first before connecting USB C to C to prevent Tube Ringing..... Violetta loves the tube sound. Have not try my HPs yet.....

Regarding the power, I read this thing outputs 1W at 8ohms. However, usually descriptions of portable gear mention output power at 32ohms (unless otherwise mentioned). So if 32ohms would implicitly be the norm, then this thing would rather have around 250mW output power by the metrics of what people are used to, or am I mistaken?

My one knock on the Earmen L-Amp mk2 is that it does not support Bluetooth. Why? This device is too large to have it hardwired via USBc to your phone while you are out and about as fitting all of this into a pocket is a challenge. Bluetooth would allow it to sit in one pocket while your phone could sit in another pocket, similar to what you can do with the RU9 that does support Bluetooth.

Seems a bit expensive for what it is tbh. At $550 it's going up against the Ibasso PB6 Macaw. You can get PB6 on Bloom Audio for $450 and then spend $100 on a Vestri for the (imo) superior DAC and you have a much better amp and dac package.
