  That last point is Flowey’s entire motive.<br><br>Normally, when you reach New Home, a bunch of monsters will come around and tell you the story of the death of Asriel and Chara. But in the genocide route, it’s just Flowey. And he doesn’t tell you the story of Asriel. He tells you the story of <i>Flowey.</i> How he woke up as a flower and tried to live a happy life, and how he couldn’t feel love anymore. How he got a happy end, he got the “good ending,” but he couldn’t feel anything. It all became so predictable. So he decided to kill everyone. He told himself that he didn’t WANT to do this, he just wanted to see what happens, and then tells you what an <i>excuse</i> that is. The same excuse most genocide players are telling themselves.<br><br>In the end, you’re just like Flowey. Whether you like it, or not.

  I&apos;m like a year late but I always thought of the &quot;boring walking simulator&quot; and &quot;But nobody came..&quot; as a narrative choice. Because in viewing it from their world perspective, they&apos;re not just hiding, you&apos;re also stalking around like a psycho SEARCHING and PRAYING to find a &quot;monster&quot; to kill so you can say you killed everything and you can move on. It&apos;s as brilliant as it is tedious.

  I think the saddest thing about watching Papyrus die is how he doesn&apos;t even get a chance to express how he feels when you see him die.. you just see his head ripped clean off.. all with a smile.. a sweet smile of contentment.. he believes in you more than anyone in the game. He thinks you&apos;re cool.. even if you say the crappiest things..

  I really, really love how the choices of ERASE and DO NOT lead to the same result.<br>Because, let&apos;s not kid ourselves, who on Earth would go through the No Mercy Route, only to choose not to destroy everything, and then leave it at that?<br>No. Sans made it clear already. Because we &quot;can&quot;, we &quot;have to&quot;. So—if there WAS a second time around—we&apos;d have chosen to ERASE the second time around, because we &quot;have to&quot; see absolutely everything, even if our prize is an absolute nothing.

  You know, I never thought about this: even though in the story Sans is doomed to fail, he absolutely succeeded in getting someone, probably many someones to give up. There&apos;s countless timelines where his last stand paid off and he genuinely saved his world.<br><br>And in each one it gets reset anyway, so he&apos;ll never know he did that.

  Not to mention how legit depressing the deaths are:<br>Toriel stops loving you<br>Papyrus still believes in you and that you can change<br>Undyne wont give up until she melts away<br>Muffet shows you that there are those who love each other with a spider placing a flower where she once stood<br>Mettaton kinda guilt trips you with the &quot;i only wanted to be famous, so thank you&quot;<br>Sans pushes himself to hallucination and walks off screen to remove the satisfaction of watching him die<br>Asgore treats you as a monster, you no longer have a human soul he can recognize<br>Flowey shows you just how twisted you are, begging you not to kill him, and dying a disturbing and painful death<br>Everyone is dead, are you satisfied?

  Undertale teaches you the consenquences of evil, and what it can do to the ones within that world. All the people in that world; people you hated, loved, and those that cared for you but you didn&apos;t, are gone with that place. Those are the consenquences of being evil.
