  Another weird thing about Mekar Island is that the enemies spawning there is weirdly randomized. <br><br>One moment it&apos;s usually a Gloom Spawn, another moment, it&apos;s an electric Wizzrobe, for some odd reason.

  The place that bugs me the most is that little stripin the depths under Lake Hylia. I&apos;m pretty sure it&apos;s only there so they can have a Light root underneath that shrine, but the whole strip just SCREAMS &quot;secret&quot;. I know it&apos;s sealed off from the rest of the depths so they couldn&apos;t really put a Yiga hideout or Zonai mine down there, but I was expecting a boss or something. Would have been awesome if there was an Ice Gleeok to mirror the one on the bridge up above

  Mekar Island is a reference to the very first Legend of Zelda game. The very first dungeon in the game is on a small island, under a dead tree surrounded by piles of bones.

  I think Makar Island had a Korok seed in Breath of the Wild. Putting gloom hands there in TotK feels like a trap for people like me who went back there expecting another Korok seed.<br><br>I also checked the depths below Spectacle Rock and was very disappointed. I feel like that one location actually caused my opinion of the game as a whole to drop because it strengthened my then-growing impression that there&apos;s almost nothing important in the Depths except non-decayed weapons and Zonaite deposits.

  My headcanon is that the structure in the Depths beneath Spectacle Rock is the cave were Jabun hid during Wind Waker

  In BotW, when you get to Mekar Island at night, a whole buncha skeletons from moblins to bokoblins will spawn. I can&apos;t remember what you get after defeating them, however.<br><br>But I do remember that one of the Gloom Hands spawn now resides on Mekar Island in TotK, and I didn&apos;t appreciate that jumpscare one iota, lemme tell ya...

  I didn&apos;t notice the island from <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDFZXS72mlk&amp;t=138">2:18</a> before. Nice there 👍 I will go there and look at it as well.

  Ngl I feel like 90% of the depths was designed just because Nintendo wanted to troll players.<br><br>Weirdest place for me (not depths) was probably the one ice cave with all the mushrooms in it. &nbsp;Ok, cool, I get it, lots of mushrooms. &nbsp;Whatever.
