His catch-phrase "That'll be the day" was the inspiration for Buddy Holly's song.<br><br>The role of little Debbie was played by Natalie Wood's younger sister.<br><br>This is easily Wayne's best performance. Usually he just plays himself. That look he gives, turning back on those three traumatized women, is amazing. And his reaction after burying Lucy is quite astounding.

The actor playing Laurie Jorgensen is the same actor who plays Lila Crane in ‘Psycho!’ Vera Miles is still with us today at 96.

When Ethan was telling him that Debbie was nothing to him, he wasn't just being mean; note that he later said, "Jorgenson is offering you a good life here"... He was trying to give the kid a chance at a life, to give up the trail of revenge. Ethan knew how ugly things could (would) get, and was trying to push the kid into staying behind and not (possibly) ruin his life. To save him from becoming... Ethan.
