Yeah it's totally her. There isn't anything that could ruin Damon more than realizing he's been outplayed by someone that much younger than him the whole time.

This is all super interesting! While i don't necessarily think Toshiko is a traditional mastermind, I do think there's SOMETHING up with her because the way she acted in the prologue is really odd. Another possible piece of evidence for your theory would be Ingrid conveniently having a headache the day of the murder. I remember thinking this was really out of place because of how much emphasis it had in the investigation. Also, Toshiko was alone and unaccounted for during her little fetch quest! It's possible that Ingrid's headache was Toshiko's doing and she was partially aware of what was going to happen that morning, hence why she needed a reason to be out and about. There's also the fact that during the trial, she actually defends Eva at a few points and isn't entirely opposed to turning suspicion onto Damon.

I was already on the toshiko mastermind train considering how everyone woke up in pairs and she's a matchmaker, but this video provided so much more evidence! Great stuff. I have to wonder if the name "eden's garden" implies that the goal of the game is to make a new "adam and eve" with the 2 most worthy ultimates.

It’s funny to me that her whole gimmick is that she’s always covering her face, even when it’s inconvenient. Literally the only reason she doesn’t eat her cereal in Chapter 1 is because that would require her to drop her fan. It also explains why she eats cereal dry, since it’s way easier to eat from your fingers than a spoon when you’re covering your face with a fan.

I also feel like she’s going to accidentally drop the fan at some point and reveal something she’s insecure about. Maybe something silly like she has braces in her teeth.

It also would explain why she’s apparently very picky with what foods she eats, because eating the wrong foods when you have braces on mean a lot of possible clean up afterwards.

Wait, in her second free time event she asks Damon if he ever thinks about being a Gardener in another life??? Gardener? Like someone who runs a garden? Like Eden's Garden??????

It's so crazy to think about it now that we know who the real mastermind was, and it wasn't intended to ever be Toshiko. It's someone different.

The reason why it cant be toshiko is because EVERYONE thinks its toshiko

Personally I feel like there’s something up with Jean. He’s the only character with a fictional animal, the dragon. And the dragon has a very interesting role in the Bible. In Revelations 12:3-4 it says “Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth.” This dragon is then revealed to be none other than Satan/the devil, who is defeated by the angels and cast away.

Eden’s Garden is obviously a game with a lot of Biblical symbolism so this Biblical association between dragons and Satan/the devil is what makes me so suspicious of Jean.

Her being Tozu's kid makes sense, even her hair is similar to his mask

They specifically drew art of her first appearance. Why do that if she wasn't special? AND BTW! Devs! If any of these theories are correct, DON'T CHANGE THE STORY. Do your story as intended.

To play devil's advocate here, since most of the comments seem to be in support of this theory, 90% of her suspicious behaviour can very easily be explained by the fact that she:
1) Is insecure about her status as a "kid ultimate" and thus tries to seem more important and mature than she actually is.
2) Shows signs of attaching to structure as a way to cope and feel in control, makes sense given that she's a kid who has an interest in classic romance and tradition.
3) Probably had a tragic experience at a young age, with which she is spending a lot of effort hiding the consequences of from her peers, and further requiring her coping mechanisms.
This theory does have me intrigued though, and if there is any character who is a pre-game traitor, I think it'd be her. But I didn't even consider anything she did "suspicious" in the "maybe she's involved" way, until I saw this video. And even whilst watching, none of what she did seemed out-of-character to what I just described.
