  This is 2023. I am a Sinhalese Buddhist. I am so proud of my heritage in this country. I fought this war till the end in May 2009. I am proud that I committed myself for something worthy. Similarly, I have lived most of my young age in North and East, specifically in Jaffna. I love the open plans covered with thorny bushes and jungles. I love the lagoons overlooked by Palmyra trees. I love the sweet Panchamurtham, which the old Pusari of Vallipuram Kovil used to give me every day, I love sweet Vilard mango from Chavakachcheri that I used to eat in hundreds. I love the fresh fish of Kolombuthurai. I love those little kids in an orphanage near Nelliaddi, whom I used to visit with sweetmeat, whenever I passed the area.  Next to my hometown of hilly, green Kandy, area I love the most in Sri Lanka is Jaffna. Having stated that, those who died as LTTE members too were sons and daughters of my country. I saw them. I felt them. I saw their helplessness. Not exaggerating, I still feel their pains. Both Sinhalese and Tamil politicians create the grudge, hatred and enmity between our two races to cover up their inabilities to develop economy. Tamil politicos fed Tamils the idea that the cause of their issues is Sinhalese. That of Sinhalese fed Sinhalese the idea that Tamils wants to dominate them. I dare that no one who is spreading hatred still is in a position of being affected by the outcome of the hatred they spread. I have read well and I have seen well. It was my people who died and lost limbs; it was my mothers and fathers who lost their sons and daughters; it was my sisters who became widows and it was the kids of my country who became orphans, but NONE of those politicos’ sons or daughters. We eat similar food, enjoy similar traditions, we look same. ONLY the Language separates us. My Tamil fellow countrymen, you should visit the South. Come and spend a few weeks in a Rural Sinhalese home. You will see, that we are SAME.

  It doesn't matter what you belive in or what house hold you grew up in. We all should know that everyone is entitled to believe and worship their own religion. Rest in peace to everyone who died in the war

  It was not a war . It&apos;s a civil war . When the other person want to crush you and your identity ,you have to fight for truth. I am not a precher of war . But Tamils and their Identity is crushed . Peace to all the srilankans whether sinhali &nbsp;or Tamil .
