  To put it in context:<br>In Vukovar, 1800 defenders with light weapons, against 36000 attackers with tanks, airplanes, artillery ... managed to defend a small town for 3 full months. <br>Yes, that is 20 against 1. <br>20 heavy armed against 1 lightly armed.<br>Almost all of the defenders were at the end dead or wounded. That is how you defend your country. They saved us all. Slava im.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXo9Al2dUSU&amp;t=5014">1:23:34</a> This is Slavko Batik after this footage he was killed by occupiers. 34 years later after this footage in April 2025 his remains were found and identified. May he rest in peace.

  I will never forget beeing 11 years back in 91 playing outside with a dog and plane a Mig flying just over our house and opening fire on radio antenas 2 kilometres from my house. It was so loud i will never forget.

  My father(Albanian) was only 22 when he was called by the Yugoslav Army to serve against Croatia.<br>He told them no, this is your war(to the serbs) not ours.<br>He served 18 months in prison in Cacak, Serbia.<br>He never talks about it, but yeah, it&apos;s obvious that the things there left a scar to him.

  JNA said Croatia will fall in 3 days, it took them 87 days to take one town. Neverthless hope the victims find peace on both sides.

  We Croatians were like one in the beginning of 90s, we never doubted we would succeed! I was only 15 at the time but the the moral of the guys only few years older than me fighting in the war against all odds was fascinating

  Read this Vukovar battle story<br><br>The Cornfield Path <br><br>– a road of courage and sacrifice<br><br>In the autumn of 1991, during the siege of Vukovar, around 35,000 aggressors (Yugoslav People&apos;s Army and paramilitary forces) attacked the city defended by only 2,000 brave Croatian soldiers. The city was almost completely surrounded, and the civilian population was trapped in immense danger.<br><br>In these darkest hours, the Cornfield Path was the only passage for delivering food, medicine, and weapons, as well as evacuating the wounded and civilians. This narrow path led through cornfields, under constant threat of mines, snipers, and ambushes.<br><br>HOS fighters went first, stepping on mine after mine, protecting civilians with their own bodies. Many lost their lives so others could survive. Hundreds of civilians and wounded passed through that path, saved thanks to their brave and tragic sacrifice.<br><br>The Cornfield Path is a symbol of unwavering determination, love, and courage when all seemed lost.

  The guy in the video at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXo9Al2dUSU&amp;t=3005">50:05</a> – the way he said &quot;we are Croats on our own land, we are fighting for freedom&quot; – when the journalist asked him &quot;so you don’t want a ceasefire?&quot; – the way he answered &quot;no&quot; and how quickly he responded to that question – LEGEND!!! That&apos;s a Spartan spirit right there!!!!
