  My brother dated a mountaineer and she wanted to take him with her on a climb that took 11 hours and he said it was the worst experience of his life and he doesn’t even know how he survived and that anyone who does that is absolutely insane. He was a military guy in great shape and it was brutal for him. This was just a mountain in Colorado.

  I&apos;m thinking of climbing Everest as well. The only drawbacks are I hate the cold, I get dizzy looking down from great heights, I&apos;m kind of old and out of shape (I can barely bend over and touch my toes), I get really impatient being held up in crowds, and I don&apos;t like camping or hiking. But other than that, I&apos;m good to go. Wish me luck!

  I summitted Kennesaw Mountain (800 feet). I was out of breath at the top, despite having taken a few breaks, resting on conveniently placed benches along the way and enjoying the view on a beautiful 75 degree day as children passed me by. So yes, I think I’m ready for my next goal, Mount Everest.

  Spending 30 minutes at the summit absolutely contributed to killing her. That is an astronomically long time to waste at the summit. Experienced climbers report that the summit is anticlimactic because in order to stay alive you have to essentially grab a phot and immediately start back down. I’m shocked the rest of the people wasting time on the summit didn’t pass away too.

  She wanted to find herself at the summit, but I think donating those $50k to a charity would be much more impressive than being carried to the summit of Everest.
