R.I.P. to my uncle who passed in 2021, born in 1957. He grew up rocking out to Mountain. I can see him now in his truck, cranking this song, all treble, no bass and singing as loud as he can. Damn, I miss you, uncle. Rock on.

You can't give it a 10, then retract your 10 and replace it with a 9, just because Fred whispered in your ear. hahaha The song was a 10 when it came out. It's still a 10. 😁

This song is FIRE!  The singing is on another level as well. Mississippi Queen can go toe to toe with anything written in the 70’s

Gentlemen , the bassist for Mountain was Felix Papoalardi. He was classically trained; he produced the incredible supergroup Cream—the first supergroup that combined the furious blues talent of Clapton with virtuoso jazz players in bass and drums.. cream would  take a 4 minute song and jam forc15 minutes. You want a long one? Play the incredible Nantucket Sleighride— but play it from Mountain Live. It is a huge song about the whalers ey used to calloff the coast of Nantucket. The old bands did not twerk — they played and sang about real life things. They used to call Leslie West the Great Fatsby—a jewish NY boy he played guitar like a fury with that cutting tone. Wanta see the fury of Cream live that far back? Play Steppin’ out , from Live Cream 2. Pure instrumental dynamite —Clapton soloing like a fury on a blues by the great black bluesman Freddie King. I saw Clapton live in Germany 1974 stationed in the US Army. Here’s another one I saw: do Rory Gallagher live, Bullfrog Blues. Killer Irish guitarist like Texas Stevie Ray Vaughn— a little before Stevie Ray, slide guitar these guys were so good and could sing too.  God bless you men. Bryan Zacharias.
