Your focus on not giving a crap is so annoying but l guess you don’t give a crap🤣😂 but seriously this is an important subject we tend not to think of.

Great discussion! This is what makes you so different than all the hum-drum photo channels out there. Thank you! I love photographing the wood storks nesting in SC. So obsessed with that bird for some reason.

I've learned in my area, (northern utah) because of molting, the birds dissappear from mid July, and are now starting to show back up.

Interesting, dude, but since you referenced the DoF debacle yourself, here is one approach that may put us all at the same page:

Applying otherwise correct maths and logic with the wrong assumptions, or an incorrectly stated problem, still gives you the wrong outcome, right?

Your 'defence' that others lack knowledge and experience and only mindlessly regurgitate facebook arguments, while you yourself mindlessly input some numbers in an app you don't understand, is uncalled for. You don't respect your audience and one may even call it gaslighting or toxic.

On top of that, you are demonstrably wrong, especially for bird photography. If you would understand optics, you would have caught how the output of the app is not applicable to the 'field examples' you sketch, could have corrected for that, and especially made the correct link with bokeh. You did not, which indicates you do not understand the app, and especially not optics, or at least not how to analyse optics over different systems.

You are a good photographer who understands nature. What you tell about that makes your channel interesting. Please stay on that topic. You do not need to be a mechanic to be a good driver. I don't care about it myself, but I care for those who are looking for advice on what gear to buy, since your analysis is very misguiding. I hope this app use is not too big a part of your field workshops either. I hate misinformation and I hope you do too.
