The British NEVER adopted US military doctrine.

We regularly trained on Snowden , the Moors and Brecon Beacons, which almost exactly match the Falklands.

I've heard this before, that the Argentinians were trained by the Americans (who wasn't in South America whoever they were??) so set up their defences as the US would have done. However, we don't follow American doctrine as it's crap and we know better, so we totally blindsided them.
Oh, and we didn't kill a load of our own troops by the ridiculously called "friendly fire" as the Yanks do in almost every operation, better called "totally incompetent, over complicated, overly dependent on the cheapest technology bought for extortionate cost by generals who end up on the boards of the same arms manufacturerers for ridiculously excessive wages".
Apologies, drink has been taken and I've just listened to trunps latest bollx.

The terms “United States” and “Intelligence” are, by definition, oxymoronic.

For political reasons, Galtieri needed a war, and Thatcher needed a war. Bad combination.

If you think the British are down or outnumbered or far from home. Never underestimate them.
